Twilight shoots are scheduled for that narrow window of time between sunset and night. I’ve found that the best time is from around shortly after sunset to around 40 mins after sunset, depending on the weather and time of year. Twilight images can add eye-catching visual drama and excitement that will get your images noticed over the competition.
Exterior shots of houses, balconies and views and work best when all of the blinds are up and all lights are on. The best time time to shoot these is when the brightness of the fading daylight and the window glow is about even.
For interiors shots with window views, I frequently use my window-masking technique which removes the reflections of interior lights from the windows, allowing viewers to see through the windows without the glare. This technique takes extra time to both photograph and process, so these images cost $5 more.
Move sliders to see how HDR processing and window-mask editing dramatically improves images!
